In 3 days we have had to reboot the box twice to get the telephone light/dialling tone back.
Is this normal?
Welcome to Orange!! Of course it's normal! You'll be pleased to know this is just the start of your problems! Have a look at the other posts. I've had loads of problems with Orange. Including the problems that you have!
