During the day on the wee kand later at night my connection is fine but betwen 6-11 and weekends my connection goes really slow. I play world of warcraft and these are raid times and i lag so much i cannot go. Its not like constant lag either i get lag spikes while playing.
I thought maybe its the wireless network or router os omthing but i replaced these and its still a problem, i havnt contacterd oranged because i odnt really no what the problem is and if its them. Anyone have any ideas on how i can fix this ?
Hey i am in same situation, this week aswell as the past around 6-10pm i've had spikes/very slow speed whilst playing world of warcraft.I will then disconnect and try reconnect again yet it doesn't connect good at all the speed goes ultra slow.(this can take upto 100+ reconnect attempts by then it still isn't it's actual speed yet the line says 7.1mb)
Are you based in london? you have exactly same problem as me with same online game and same time periods.I really do not know what it is but i do know in january my internet always connected at 4mb, ultra pi**ed off at the moment and soon will migrate to BE as i can no longer handle Orange's abyssmal service.
i live in swindon bout 60 miles from london but yeah my problems Exactly thje same as yours, never used to do it either. Its insaley annoying and makes it impossible to play
You'll want to run a "tracert" to the particular WoW server you play on to see if there's any particular point the connection is being slowed at. If it's not within Orange's network then there's not a great deal you can do except try and get in touch with the admin of the server in question.

It's not just WoW, I play Star Wars Galaxies, a similar type of online game and my lag is horrendous
Again it drops out at a telia.net server. Seen it in another thread, a qucik search shows this is happening a fair bit and it's not limited just to Orange but other UK isp's and some continental ones too.
From that I'd guess it's some dodgy server/router on the continent causing all the trouble.
I read recently about a group of people who tired to attack the 13 main internet servers and almost brought them down. i guess this could be affecting things at the moment.
