I've recently upgraded my speed at which i connect from 1.1 up to 5.5. Thats when all my troubled started, up until then i had had know trouble at all but seen as though it was a free upgrade i went for it. Now my connection keeps dropping off quite frequently its as if the line can't cope with it. I'm using a speedtouch 350 to connect. I'ce tried the tech support line but found it very difficult to understand the lady at the other end. I gatthered from the conversation that she said they would be testing the line for a week. the week will be up on monday. Have you had any other reports of this happening to other people. I did ask to be put back the way it was at 1.1 meg but that fell on deaf ears. Any suggestions?
thats where it all started for me. I was on 2mb line I was upgraded for free, turns out they put me on a 12mnth contract without askin for it, and now jus have constant problems... lucky to be on now!! its 4pm
Thats where it all started for most of us yet Orange in their wisdom dont appear to recognise it AS a problem !! Basically they installed their own LLU equipment in lots of exchanges and it doesnt work !! FULL STOP...
Come on Orange i know you have already admitted it doesnt work... stop charging people and fix it instead of all your excuses and lies !!
You say its a 350. I can not find this product on the Thomson website. Do you mean 330? If its a 330 then heres how:
If you do not have Dr. SpeedTouch installed, download it from: Thomson
(Edit by Admin: We have changed the link above to point to the page with information on the download required. Please do not link to downloads - we understand that you are trying to assist but we do not allow any links directlt to a download from another website. Once installed, there should be a new system tray icon appear. Right click on the icon and choose Advanced then Write log file to disk. It will ask you where to save the file - choose your desktop for convenience.
Once the window disappears, double click on the file called drst.xml on your desktop to view your line stats.
ADSLMAX works Orange LLU DOES NOT work. They even admit it.
Maybe we should do a poll?
How many on ADSL that works to speed and how many on LLU that works to speed (if at all of course) lets see where the problems lie.
Methinks you will find this is an LLU problem like the other few million out there.

I'll agree with Raybo on this, I would think right at this moment those complaining of crap speeds are mostly likely to be on Oranges LLU. At the beginning, instead of acknowledging the LLU problem they were far to eager to offer the explanation of "Thats the fastest your line can handle" or "Its most likely your wiring or your distance".
The average speeds of LLU is shamefully low, the numbers of people using LLU are considerably high- when people look at their speed (sometimes half meg) then look at the advert mentioning 8 meg- your gonna get p!ssed of people complaining...
Well said Peop, Orange have admitted to me on a NUMBER of occasions that they are having big problems with their LLU equipment .... one of their so called "customer CARE" people even told me it was CRAP so i dont hold out much hope for the people who have this crap lol.
ORANGE AS A COMPANY ARE VERY CONSPICUOUS BY THEIR ABSENCE FROM THIS SITE... I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IF THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEIR EQUIPMENT AND THEY HAD NOTHING TO HIDE THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN HERE LONG BEFORE NOW PUTTING PEOPLES MIND AT REST AND EXPLAINING WHY EVERYONE IS GETTING SUCH SLOW SPEEDS (the ones who can actually connect at all of course)....... BUT NO ... AS NORMAL THEY COULDNT CARE LESS.
COME ON Orange ADMIT YOU GOT IT WRONG FOR A CHANGE !!
How about "The futures SH*TE the futures Orange" lol.....at least we can laugh about this but to be honest i think there is a lot to be said for Oranges lack of knowledge and ability to fix all these problems... its about time they employed some descent staff who know what they are doing instead of the so called "tech support" they have which is a joke.
As for their Customer "Care" ...... im totally lost for words......... it stinks !

maybe we all should bombard their customer servives email address with links to this site( customer-service@uk.orange.com) it might not work but they might get sick

Bombard it enough and it'll probably just get spam filtered.

LOL, as much as I would love to inflict the same amount of misery and disappointment Orange has given me, but doing this is like a fly trying to knock-out an elephant.
Orange are way to long in the tooth and savvy to be effected- they are drowning in complaints letters/emails day in, day out, legitimate complaints, non-legimate complaints. A 'few' more complaints is unlikely to get them up out of their seat.
The balls already rolling, we've seen a number of people leave Orange, we've seen other ISP's bring their 'A' game, we know more will be leaving as soon as their contracts are up, and we have seen others avoid getting trapped in the first place. It's only through loss of profit will Orange be prepared to actually 'do' something rather than just 'saying it'.
The problem is still a problem until it is given a solution (gift-wrapped excuses don't make for a solution I'm afraid).
