Anyone else experiencing slow speeds tonight. i am lucky to be getting over 1mb at the moment. I normally get 5-6.5mb. I have good line stats so not sure what may be causing the problem.
yep mines is slow too
I'm adsl max - often get 5mb but its about 700k tonight
From Orange.co.uk:
Customers in Liverpool, Newcastle, Tannockside and Cardiff may be experiencing intermittent disconnections or slow browsing due to a known network issue. This is a known fault which is currently under investigation.
However it's slow for me and I'm north of the border!
Real slow for me too, down to around 10kbps download Considering where the problems are supposed to be I wouldn't have thought being in London that I'd be affected, bleedin' ell, I think it's spreading!!

That might explain my problem, im in Newcastle lol
Although i doubt theyre fixing anything, and isnt that just their LLU? As im sure if it was BT then it wouldnt have anything to do with Orange....
What on earth are Orange doing? Here in Cardiff, for the past two/ Three weeks the system has been up and down like a yo yo! When questioned they either say "we have been experiencing localised problems on the network which are now resolved" (untrue!) to "sorry we can't help by email, please speak to a representative on our broadband support telephone number ....."
Just spoke to Orange, they say that as the switchover was done a couple of days ago, the linespeed will occasionally be very slow and sometimes very quick over the next 10 days as they test the lines for compatability. Does this sound right?

I should imagine that comment just applies to your local exchange.
My connection dropped out this morning for a couple of minutes.
Your line will have a 10 day training period where the speed will fluctuate and occasional drop outs.
The line will be looking for the maximum stable rate. I would leave it til after this 10 day period before contacting Orange. My line fluctuated alot and my spped is around 6-6.5mb, apart from the other night that is.
