Just subscribed to Broadband Unlimited, has a few plus points for me but at the current time my BT line is limited to 3Mbps so thats what I presumed I would get down give or take a bit - however when checking my IP profile via BT Speedtester and other UK ADSL speed test sites they confirm the service I'm receiving from Orange only has 1 to 1.5 Mbps down
Orange do say in an email I received;
"How to get the quickest speed...
To make sure we can give you the fastest speed possible, we test it for the first ten days. The first time you go online, you'll need to stay on for 15 minutes so the testing can start."
is this true? has anyone had a similar experience when beginning a subscription for the Boradband unlimited service - can I expect it to change, i.e. should I be patient for a week/10 days and see if it changes or should I begin the complaint process now - or have I got in wrong and I wont ever be getting 3Mbps ? my brother has broadband starter (2Mbps) and seems to get Mbps down on a similar BT landline
Just moved back to UK - god I miss my 20Mbps cable line from UPC in Netherlands lol
If you're within the 10 day period then there's little point contacting Orange as not a great deal can be done until the system finishes the testing and works out what the maximum stable rate is for your line.
