Last October I signed up for Wireless & Talk. Braoadband was great, still is. On talk service I could call out no problem but when phoning into number I got meassage saying Service is not available. Reported to Orange but got nowhre. Reported to ISPA 3 times. each time got different person from CAT team who promised the world but did not deliver. Just about to report to CISAS to get resolve and compensation for Oranges incompetence when I decided to change number in member centre from 0845 number to 0131 number. Guess what. phone could make calls and recieve calls. Decided to do another change number back to 0845 number thinking I would get differnt number. When i requested change to 0845 number I was surprised that they gave me the same number. I thought 'oh no here we go again. 'Switched off livebox as advised and after 15 minute got talk service back with original number. Phoned out ok. Decided to phone number and surprise, surprise it rang. I can now recieve incoming calls. What surprises me, although knowing Orange I should not be, is that after Three months of trying to get the service fully functional I achieved this through what I regard as a simple logical solution. I think it says a lot about the incapabilty of Oranges support systems when the customer arrives at a solution before they do, dispite Three complaints to ISPA and Three phone calls from CAT team, plus letter from them saying they do not have a solution. So much for tech/customer support. If company's are going to provide advance service such as this they need to ensure that the give the front line staff the ability to support it.
The ability to change the number has only just recently been introduced, within the last week or two I think so it wouldn't have been available in quite the same way previously.

From Mr Happy - I am glad the problems now resolved.
From Mr Un-Happy - I 'm pretty annoyed that Orange could not resolve the problem for the best part of 3 months yet I achieved it in the space of about 30 miniutes. Does not exactly instill confidence in the support functions of of the provider, does it?
I've trie the above solution and it doesn't work for me.
No dialling tone, no ringing of phone when the new number is dialled. Just a flashing light when number is dialled to indicate something is going on. Static at all other times.
