Hi everyone, I'm attempting to install my livebox (wireless only) with 2 pcs but have encountered several problems. Firstly the cd doesnt work, wont go past the first screen on either pc even though ive disabled firewalls etc. So ive attempted to connect manually, but it wont work either. One on pc it gets to the "acquiring network address" stage, but quickly disconnects and tries again. Ive looked at the sticky about this but as i dont have a wired connection in the first place I cant use the guide. On the other pc it says "waiting for network to respond" or something similar. Im stumped!
Ive tried pressing the number 1 button, but nothing seems to happen (the wireless light on top of the livebox is already flashing). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
When trying to connect manually, have you tried to access the Livebox configuration pages (type http://configuration.adsl into your browser address bar)?
You may not want a wired connection but it is far easier to set the livebox up using one and then configuring the wifi .
Livebox default wifi settings are channel 1 which most people find unstable due to interference and the default security is WEP/WPA which throws out a lot of wifi cards and adaptors .
Theres no magic wand to wave here you need to get to the settings .
As for the cd its most likely you have the latest flash player installed which is known to stop the cd working .
Managed to sort it out in the end, thanks for the help. The fact that the cd doesnt work with the latest version of flash is pathetic.... Why even bother with a flash installation program?! these idiots think it makes stuff easier for the computer illiterate as its got crappy videos etc., but it causes far more trouble than necessary.
