I have been using Wanadoo Brodband for over a year using a 3Com Wireless connecter to link the 3 computers in the house. I installed a Livebox to try and use their phone line but have found that the speed of connection to the Livebox is so poor that I have had to go back to the 3Com system. I have tried a factory reset and changing channels but without any improvement. I have tried different locations for the Livebox but even when the Livebox is close to one of the computers the signal strength is not brilliant. What is the experience of others, have I just got a duff Livebox or do others have similar problems.
I think the livebox may not like other wireless adapters than the "offical" one you are supplied with using it. On my pc I use the adapter that came with the livebox and its speed is on par with a wired connection that my brothers pc uses. However my sister uses a ZyDas wireless adapter to connect to it but the speed is a hellavua lot slower than either my wireless or my brothers wired, and the realy strange thing is her computer is actually closer to the livebox than mine. My pc is about 15 meters away, and the signal has to pass through a couple of thick walls, and my sisters is just under 2 meters away and the signal has to only pass through a couple of centimeters of plaster board.
I know it isn't her adapter because I can set it up to be another access point and I can connect to it extremly quickly, also I've tried the adapter at a friends house where it worked fast too
i have a linksys WAG354G wirless-G ADSL Home Gateway, any help with setting it up, i've conntacted wannadoo several times, but they fail to help me set up the gateway as i think that they only give priority to those who buy there livebox, however i'm still a wanadoo customer...
my problem is that i can't connect to the internet at the moment through the gateway, and i don't know why the settings providedby wanadoo in the first email are input. but they don't change anything?? i might as well put no settings in!! as it doesn't do anything the same as it was doing without the settings!!
can anyone help me?? i have one laptop, one xbox and one desktop. i want to connect the xbox and the desktop via eithernet and connectthe laptop wirelessly. the wirless connection seems to work, however i've tried sending files from the desktop to te laptop this doesn't work (using a shared folder). anyone help me on this?? or on the internet connection problem??
