Stupidly i decided to get free broadband with Orange last july . First month went ok then latency increased until pages timed out on browser .By end of august i was losing connection ie PPPserver down one or two days out of five this got worse and by sept oct i was without connection for a week at a time .Finally from 1st nov to dec 23 no broadband. Had braodband but no voip for a few days over christmas and ny but was away for most of the time .Now had no connection for another 10 days .Orange say their engineers are trying to fix the problem but have no time scale.I have had two months line rental and two months unlimited download fee compensated for what its worth.Is this a record or has anyone fared worse .I only call them now when i need a laugh as i've seen all the mickey mouse cartoons .My exchange is at beckenham S E london its llu .I have asked Orange to cancel my entire contract but they can't reply to my email

The broadband service with Orange phone is referred to by Orange as a promotional offer and therefore they are not obliged to cancel the 18 month contract that you have to subscribe to to get broadband even if you have continued problems like me.They can and do offer compensation at their discretion but only if you hassel them enough.I have spoken to managers at Orange who admit 3 months with little more than a few minutes or odd hour connection is outragious service to someone who has been a customer since they fist started in the uk.I would love to see someone challenge the legallity of their contract but sadly do not have the money or time to waste.
