Hello,
ok here goes. The livebox is working fine wirelessly with my laptop. BUT as i am running windows Xp its all fine as i do not need to instal the disc. on my computer i am running windows ME. i have just bought an ethernet PCI adapter and fitted that. i want to conect it directly to the live box. But when i try to use use the conection wizard to make a LAN conection as i cannot install the livebox instalation disk (which when i put it in just pauses but only installs the tool bar). it cannot find the livebox pull down menu to connect. i downloaded a copy of the cd and the same thing happens, does anybody know how to resolve this?? am i doing anything wrong?? i think if the disk was installed this cwould all be OK. please help.

The cd shouldn't really make much difference with Win ME.
Try going into the control panel, network, highlight the TCP/IP listing for your ethernet and click properties. On the IP address tab it should be set to automatic and DNS should be set to disable.
After that try and open 192.168.1.1 in internet explorer. If you get the livebox page it should hopefully be working.
I'm sure that should be automatic for the DNS as well?
There is no automatic option for DNS in Win ME, it's either enable and supply the server addresses or disable and let it pickup the ones off the network.
