After struggling for hours, finally i connected the laptop with the wireless. today i have received the email saying that Talk service is ready to go. they given me the 0845 and PIN number (i have just seen the future is bright advert while i am tying and could not refrain from laughing... lol). Switched off and then on the livebox... and realised the telephone light is flashing...
after connecting my BT cordless phone i tried to make a phone call to my mobile and got this message "The service you requested is not available". i tried to call the 0845 number from my t-mobile phone it said that the phone number does not exists. 2 times called to customer service... they advised not to call them as they are experience loads of call (well i can see now why... probably all their customers are calling them during the peak time)... anyways i tried 3rd time and this time after 30 minutes of wait... some indian lady spoke to me and asked to hard reset the livebox to factory standard... did that and all in vain... then i even turned on the speaker of the phone and let her listen the messages that i receive but all in vain... she then said that i must have telephone connected with both BT as well as livebox... i did try to convince her that i cant even make call to 0845 number or at least it should go to voice mail... but she kept saying that u must connect phone with the BT Line + livebox to make it working... this really pi**ed me off... dont know what to say... i am really thinking to say good bye to Orange as 20£ (+££ for listening to bull***t messages and speaking to bull***t customer service) a month is a waist without free phone... can someone help me to give it a last go before I say goodbye to ornage?
Well if you're getting those messages then it sounds like you're doing things just as you're supposed to and that it's likely the problem is somewhere behind the scenes with Orange. Probably needs to be escalated after the usual checks they need to do.

Telephone light on livebox should be permanently lit if talk is active. Flashes slow when making call. Check menu in configuration to see if status is showing 'Ready'

You mention phoning the talk 0845 number but you do not appear to say whether you can make outgoing calls. If you can make outgoing calls and are still getting the message above then it is a known problem that Orange are aware of. Apparently affects some 0845 number. I've had letter from Orange Head Office stating this and saying their engineers in France are working to fix the problem but as yet have been unable to find a solution. Given this known fault has been with the engineers for months and they still have not idea whats causing it speaks volumes for their ability.
i have noticed over the last couple of months that I am unable to call out using the Orange talk service, mostly at weekends, yesterday for instance.
The telephone light does not operate and when I lisyen on the phone connected to the live box I hear either an engaged tone or the BT dial tone. I e-mailed Orange and received a reply to try several things, most of which have been suggetsed on this forum and they sent me a new adater which was not required, but I have a spare now. I have e-mailed back to customer service telling them that it needs further looking into. Any thoughts from Elhana or any one else would be appreciated.
For info my last input was re an upgrade offered last year and whether it was going to be LLU or the trial they were doing, it was LLU after all. I might regret say this but, fingers crossed all seems ok except the recent out going calls problem. A friend of mine signed up for the FREE deal via Mobile but he cannot phone into his system.
Oh the joys of modern technology, what happened to the good old morse key and a bit of wire??

Thanks for everyon for ur valuable time and feedback. To my surprise today i found my telephone working and not only i can make free calls but i can also receive calls... all seems perfect but i am still onsidering leaving Orange as i am a heavy bandwidth user and would probably become victim of FUP (is it called f**** user policy btw LOL) any thoughts of you guys regarding FUP? i usually daily wath online TV (8+ hrs) and do downloads often once or twice in week...
