I am trying to connect a pda to my livebox.
Its an Xda 11s.
The pda recognises the livebox but when I go to connect onto the internet via it, it claims to have no connection.
Any suggestions please as to how I can get it paired?
My wireless link from the Livebox is working very well.
Thanks
Make sure the antenna light on the livebox is flashing for the until you establish the first working connection, press 1 on the box. Enter the WEP key as on the box but without the spaces. If it still won't connect it could be due to security.
Log into the livebox through a PC connected to it, browse to 192.168.1.1, click the link, default username and password are both "admin".
Configuration > Advanced > Wireless
Try WPA only if your PDA and other wireless devices support it, no harm if you use a ethernet connection as you can try it and change it back if any problems. Otherwise try WEP only.
There is another place to configure 'tiacxwin Compatible Wireless address'.
It asks for an IP address, a subnet mask and a default gateway.
Would that work and if so, where would i find that info??
I have put the authentication as OPEN and Data Encryption as OPEN and all the Live box details come up nicely and the pda says that it is connected. However, it still will not connect to the internet.
This is driving me mad now
You'll need to see if you can find someone who has used an XDA's wireless and ask them, probably other forums around mentioning it, as I really don't know how it's setup on one.
Just remember pairing mode until you get it working for the first time, WPA only security on the livebox though you might want to check WEP only as well if you try something new.
