Although I have successfully connected my Livebox via a wired connection to my PC and also successfully configured two different makes of laptops to connect wirelessly (using a piggy-backed Belkin router on the Livebox), I am still a little bit flummoxed about all the ports on the Livebox unit and what they are for. Can anyone please enlighten me since I cannot find useful information anywhere on the net and the Livebox package did not contain any additional information other than installation instructions?
1) What is the 'Type A USB Plug' port useful for?
2) What is the '2' W Logo switch used for?
3) What is the POTS port for at the base of the Livebox?
4) What is the 'yellow' Ethernet TV port used for?
FYI: I have piggy-backed my old Belkin router via an RJ45 connector into the 'red' Ethernet LAN port on the Livebox because it provides a 54Mbps connection speed whereas the Livebox provided only a 10 or less Mbps connection speed and occasionally dropped. I'm still waiting for my 'TALK' protocol to be enabled to allow me to use the VOIP. I have heard that this may be a little more tricky than I previously thought. But we shall see.........
It's a USB master port. Allows the connection of a USB printer which can then be accessed by anyone on the network when configured correctly. Possibly could be used for a USB hard/flash drive but nobody seems to have figured out how for those yet. May work with other devices but it would take some experimentation.

To turn on and off the big flashing Wanadoo logo, or if you have an Orange box it's a go faster button. Tell a friend it makes the broadband go faster when held in and see how long they'll fall for it.

If you mean the RJ11 port with the white line next to the port for the phone lead then thats for the talk service, connect the supplied adapter and a phone once it's activated.
If on the other hand you're talking about the port under the security sticker it's a serial port that's apparently been disabled a few firmware versions ago.

It's a standard ethernet port, for now. When they decide to introduce the TVOIP service and box you activate it in the config and it becomes a port deadicated for that service. They have it in France but no idea when we'll see it over here.

Well as long as the livebox is connected to the phone line and it activates ok it should get a light on the phone symbol and work once you plug the phone into the adapter.
