Hi,

I have recently upgraded to a Livebox, basically for the unlimited cap. Anyhow, now I get frequent and somewhat inappropriate popups appearing that I NEVER had before. Popup blocker in IE has not changed nor has my firewall. Can anybody help me stop those stupid poker popups and those "dating" popups that are appearing on this family PC? How has this suddenly happened since moving to the Livebox scenario?

i´d say with almost 100% certainty that the arrival of these annoyances is completely unconnected with the livebox, and merely a coincidence. Your best course of action is to download a program called adaware -

(if that link doesn´t work, then just google for adaware, and choose the download.com link)

It´s a free program that will scan your system for malware - it looks as you may have picked up an infection somewhere Wink

I think I have Spybot somewhere too. It has been a few weeks since I have run these.

yes, spybot search and destroy is also a good one to use, i find it catches the ones that adaware misses.

(i dont run any AV or antispywr on my PC though.... ahhh, the joys of linux Very Happy

)
