It would seem that at present if you have the 15mb space from your original Freeserve PAYG account and you try to FTP whilst connected to The Internet on anything other than your PAYG account (dial up 56k modem)then the connection fails.
Dial up using your 56k modem and hey presto! FTP works fine.
I knew it was a money thing. IE: Use your PAYG account so Orange make money from the calls and you can access your space and files.
Things must be desperate down at the Orange farm yard!
Bit crap though trying to upload at such slow speeds eh??

I'm on a 1mb starter package using a speedtouch 330.
Been FTPing fine for the past six months, this problem only started about a week ago.
If I use my 56k dial up modem I can get in no problem. Soon as I go back onto broadband with the same FTP settings I've always used I get a "connection failed" error.
Go figure!

Probably to do with an updated possible IP range which the FTP server isn't set to accept. It's known there's issues with accessing the FTP and they're apparently looking into it.
