Not been on broadband for a few months now. Used to be with another ISP at a different address.
I ordered online Orange Unlimited Broadband 27 Nov, hoping to be up and running around the 5th of decemeber when I had some time off to set it up. In addition to the service, I ordered a wireless ariel.
I get a confirmation email from them telling me I’d signed up for the starter package. Had to go back to the site to double check this was not the case. Couldn’t log in.
Then I get an email the next day to either check my account online or call them to check my bank details are correct, and I have two days to do this. Can’t log into my account as it’s not set up. Wait till the last day. Log in details start to work! Hurrah! Only to get to the bank details page to find they are asterisked out for security. So, had to call them at their 7p a min rates. Totally pointless phone call as I knew I put the details in correctly.
Get another email advising to check my livebox every day for a connection. However, a week later, 4th december it had not arrived, although DSL had been set up on my line. Noticed on the support FAQs that there was a delay, should get my livebox by 11th decemeber. OK well I can wait.
Find out I was charged straight away for my wireless ariel. Then find out I’m going to be charged for the ‘serivce’ from 6th december! Saturady 9th december arrives, and get a letter to say sorry for the delay, we will try to get your livebox to you by the 15th december. Then I get an email from Orange to request I leave my Livebox switched on for updates. Oh if only I could……
I don’t mind waiting for the box, was hoping to be set up by 5th december. I am patient. But what annoys me is that I’ve been charged straight away for the ariel, and charged from the 6th december for a service I can’t use, and I’m sitting here using pay for the minuite dial up at the same time.
I hope things pick up. I thought my last ISP was bad..... Please Orange don't be as bad as my last one
They should be able to refund you the time you've not had the livebox as it's not your fault. The billing goes through as soon as the line is completed and anything extra ordered goes onto the first bill. When you get the livebox setup call them and they should get a refund sorted out.
