Hi, Ive recently subscribed to Orange adslmax and haven't got round to setting up the livebox, prefering to stick with my existing router for the time being after reading the multitude of negative threads on the livebox.
My question is this, The only reason I would need the Livebox is for the VOIP function and the free calls. Now I know that various people have managed to use the Livebox as the ADSL modem and connected their original router as a switch to maintain their wired network. What I would like to know is would it be posible to use the livebox voip function behind my existing router and setting up a DMZ to it?
Depends if the ethernet ports will work as uplink ports, not certain but I don't believe they do, also how the firmware is set to send the data back to Orange. If it only tries to send it over the line then it won't work, only real way to see if it does is try.

From previous post:
Wireless not working well on Livebox but if you have another wireless router do below so that you can use VOIP on Livebox
If you turn off DHCP and the ADSL connection on your old router and plug it into the back of the LiveBox you'll have the best of both worlds
Just to let u know that my Livebox is wired into my PC and because the signal strength for my laptop is very weak, I piggy-backed my previous Belkin router into the Livebox using the RJ45 connection and I have the best of both worlds now. I can choose which wireless router to connect my laptop and hopefully I will be able to use the Livebox for VOIP calls.
