<Livebox Issues? ~ Flashing @ Symbol - No broadband now for 6 days

Well, I've now not been able to connect to the internet since Wednesday 6th.
Have phoned their 'technical support' several times, and have done the factory reset numerous times. I've had a line test, an advanced line test, had the problem referred to an engineer etc etc.
One person I've spoken to freely admitted someone I'd previously spoken to had "lied through his teeth" to me and that there is "no time scale" for sorting my problem out.
I spoke yet again to someone at the Indian call centre who took me through the usual reset nonsense and when this predictably didn't resolve the problem she said it would be referred to an engineer again etc and cherrfully advised that she was sure I'd be able to go online again soon.
I'm utterly sick of contacting Orange - They either seem not to have a clue what the problem is or just want to fob me off repeatedly.
I attempted to phone their customer service to try to cancel the broadband with them at 8.30pm last night - An hour and a half later I was still listening to the same recorded voice telling me I was calling at a busy time and may face a delay (really!?) and was then cut off at 10pm. Brilliant.
Sorry for the rant, but feels good to get it out!
Can anyone tell me 1. What the slow flashing @ symbol means and 2. How difficult it is to cancel broadband service when I'm only 6 months into it?

Slow flashing means it has a connection to the equipment at the exchange but is unable to log in. The configure livebox icon will provide more info for this problem, probably saying "PPP Server Down" for the status I expect.

Coming from the tech side of things you need to have had all diagnosic steps done, depending on the problem and test results this often includes an engineer going out or a replacement livebox being tried.
