I signed up with Freeserver and did not have any issues, they sold out to Wanadoo and I did not have any issues, they sold out to Orange and all I have is issues.
According to my online statements I am hooked up to Broadband Max, after phoning to cancel my account a couple of weeks ago due to the poor speed available to my area I was told that the exchange had been upgraded and I could get a better speed for free so I said I would take it.
Since then I loose my connection every five to ten damned minutes with some nights being able to stay online for up to half an hour at a time, big whoop.
Apart from anything else previously I was on a 1mb connection which worked at slightly over that, now it reports to me that I am getting an average of 3.5mb but it’s slower than the 1mb was when browsing and constantly forces me to re-start my modem/router.
Phoning customer service/tech is an even bigger waste of time as I don’t use the dodgy box they force people to take but alternate equipment due to it being required for a home network so they refuse to answer any questions even though with testing the box they rent to people proves to have exactly the same problems.
Then the cherry on top, I have a job at the moment using remote desktop to input stock items to a local companies new computer system only problem is since I upgraded I cant even connect to the bloody thing without these constant interruptions.
Sorry if that comes across as a bit of a rant but I am bloody sick of this, does anyone know how to fix it other than *hunting down Orange shareholders with a sledgehammer & hacksaw?
* = May not fix the problem but it would make me feel so much better.
P.S.
Last night I was up until about 05:00 trying to do some work, at this rate I will have to apologise to the client and tell them I wont be able to complete the job by Christmas making myself look like a fool and loosing the job.
