Since that 8MB 'upgrade' (which incidentally only gives me 2MB on a good day) my internet has been disconnecting frequently, especially in the evening, when I can connect only for it to disconnect ten seconds later.
Most of the time, the Speedtouch icon goes yellow, and I have to wait for it to turn green again. Some days it will require me to pull out the modem and plug it in again, because it is 'in use or not configured properly'. The worst is when it starts a constant stream of 'Verifying Username and Password...' in the status window, locks up the connection window and I have to plug it into another computer, connect using that, then bring it back to connect using my main PC. (The disconnect problem happens whichever computer it is connected to, though.)
I think I do live in an LLU area, and I'd like to know if this is possibly the cause of the problem? Any help would be appreciated, but I can't move my connection to another provider, so this isn't my solution.
Do the modem lights change at all when this happens? If they stayed the same and you just got these problems my first instinct would be that it's a driver/software problem.
Also does the other computer you've tried it with ever get the same problems?
The modem lights are fine, they do change accordingly (flash during the yellow icon, then solid during the green icon.) And when the modem is connected to the other computer, it still brings up these problems.
