My email to them:
"hi,
Could you please tell me when wanadoo plan to start upgrading
connections to BT's new ADSL Max service?
"If you join Plus or Max we'll give you the fastest speed available
and we'll upgrade your line for free if quicker speeds come to your
area."
This statement is false as you are not providing the fastest service
available."
The reply:
"Dear Colin ,
Thank you for your email.
We would like to help you but we need a couple more pieces of
information before we can get started...."
They simply refuse to answer a simple question without being difficuilt. They do not need my account details to answer the question!
Wanadoo wont and never will be supporting the ADSL MAX services!!!
LLU is what they are following
Its only the main providers e.g. BT, Zen & Nildram who are using ADSL MAX.
There really is no difference between the two ADSL Max and LLU are pretty much similar but if uve got a rubbish line or a long distance from your exchange, ADSL Max would be the better bet

30111987,
Don’t let them wriggle off the hook, push them for an answer so we can see how many different answers they give regarding ADSL Max

XtRa,
Shown below is the response a Wanadoo employee gave concerning ADSL Max, was he telling lies (surely not)
Quote:
BT launched a new service called IPStream Max. This offers ISPs the opportunity for all their customers to reach speeds of up to 8Meg from 31st March 2006. This allows us to offer speeds of up to 8Meg to all our customers and not just to those in our LLU areas. We will be launching this service later in the year once it has been subjected to testing. The launch is planned for this summer but the exact date is not yet known.
what customers will get IPStream Max?
all customers signing up to Broadband Plus & Broadband Max will continue to get the fastest speed possible, up to 8Meg. The coverage of this up to 8Meg speed is currently tied in with our own LLU network but when we launch BT IPStream Max this summer this will become national.
what about customers on our New Starter package?
these customers will remain on 1Meg and will not be affected. If these customers wish to upgrade, they’d need to re-grade to either Broadband Plus or Broadband Max.
what can other existing customers expect?
for 2Meg customers they will be moved on to fastest speeds when available without charge. We will let them know when they are being moved onto the up to 8Meg product. This will happen after Wanadoo has tested trialled & launched the service. Customers on slower speeds such as 512K and 1Meg will be able to re-grade to faster speeds as normal. Customers can currently upgrade to a 2Meg prod
My next reply (last night):
"hello,
Thank you very much for your standard reply!
Perhaps you could now answer my question?
Surely you do not need the account information to give a general
answer as to Wanadoo's position on ADSL Max...
Yours,"
Finally a sensible reply back from Wanadoo! (today):
"Thank you for your email.
Plans are underway to upgrade our services to BTs IPStream Max, however,
we cannot release any details until closer to the time."
So there we have it, not commitment over time. What a surprise!
