two days ago i was using my broadband it was fine, that night i switched my pc on and i was getting the message `you have limited connection or no connectivity`ive tried to reboot the livebox to no avail, i uninstalled my modem and reinstalled it and it was ok again yesteday i put my pc on again and i got the same `you have limited connection or no connectivity` message, this time i called Orange and they managed to do something which i dont know what and it was fine again ,then later it went on the blink again but this time i checked my connections unplugging and reconnecting my ethernet cable in the process which managed to reconnect it with the network again. but whenever i reboot or switch off my pc i have no connection again with the re plugging in of the ethernet cable sorting it again on front of my modem the @light the phone light and the signal light are all illuminated everytime and even the >>light is flashing occasionally to show its active but the connection drops occasionally. im thinking that the ethernet cable from the modem to the pc might be knackered or even the socket or ethernet card but im not sure.....also spyware and virus checks are showing nothing.
help will be greatly appreciated lol and apologies for the long thread
*edit* i forgot to say im running windows xp sp2 and its a wanadoo livebox not the Orange version
Possibly the cable as you say although sounds more to do with the ethernet card to me. May be worth checking for any updated drivers or just reinstalling it to rule that out as causing the problem.
