Fed up of slow/dropped connections on wireless using livebox. Want to revert back to my wired network using 3 computers and one printer.
Anybody out there know how to set up the Livebox with the ASR 8400 ADSL router so that i can get all my computers on the internet, sharing printer etc but also still have availablity of the free calls service with the livebox.
I don't know about your router but it should be possible to use a basic switch in one of the Livebox eithernet ports and connect 2 computers and the printer to it. Then run the main computer off the other eithernet port to itself.
Most routers can become a switch by simply turning off the DHCP server within their config, so the livebox sets the IP's over the network instead of fighting with the router.
Thanks for your help chaps. Had a go at connecting as per 30111987 instructions and although I appear to be getting an internet connection the link light on the Origo router keeps flashing even when I am not connected. This does not happen if I set the Origo router up on its own without the Livebox. Any idea's ?
it just shows the livebox is checking the router is still connected to it
it's the same with your PC, even if your not actively loading a web page the symbol in the task bar will flash every now and then as the computer and router keep in touch.
as long as everything appears to be working I wouldn't worry!

Just guessing........The Origo's indicating that (as you'd expect) it can't synch with the exchange.
