My livebox is connected by cable to 2 pcs and these work fine. My third pc is connected wirelessly using a Linksys pci wireless card. It setup OK nd when I boot up will connect but after a while it will drop the connection. When then scan for available networks the Livebox is not there, rescanning a few times will pick it up and I can then usually reconnect.
Signal strength when connected is "excellent" and rate is 54Mb/sec. It is almost like the wireless side of the livebox likes to take a tea break!
Any suggestion welcome
Shaun
Just in case anyone else has a similar problem:
Seem to have solved the drop out problem by-
1) Changing router to channel 11
2) Changing encryption on the router from WPA & WEP to WEP only
3) Resetting the Linksys PCI card profile to match the new settings for the router and setting the 128 PSK WEP code.
4) Disabling windows xp control of the wireless card and allowing the Linksys software to control wireless functions,
Result: Stable connection @ 54Mb/sec, download speed tripled compared to when windows was controling the card.
