Ok after months of poor service from Orange on a connection which was promised of upto 8mb and an actual speed of 609kb when other service providers saying we could atleast get 4.5mb i decided it was time to get rid of them. I've seen many people have had problems getting a MAC code out of them but strangly enough 3 days after requested it arrives and what a relief too. A day later phones up BT and asks to start a connection with them and told them the MAC and they went through everything and thought it was all sorted but no, got a phone call telling us they couldnt use the MAC code?!?! we needed one which started with BBIP but the one Orange gave us started LLMR so i'm wondering whats going on? any one else have this problem?

p.s BT told us to cancel our contract fully with Orange before apllying to goto BT bb but i thought MAC codes were there for a reason Rolling Eyes

help please.

Seems like BT don't accept LLU MAC codes their are plenty of other better ISP's that do accept them with a 1 month contract check out ADSLguide forums and DSL Zone UK ISP Ratings you have probably had a lucky escape with BT they are just as bad as Orange.

Thanks for you're help, one of the website confirmed my opinion of Be Broadband BB as its top of the list which i will most likely be going to if the accept the MAC.

Hi again yes Be (o2 (now Sky)) are good i tried them in august but they didn't accept LLU MACs at the time but might do now if not try the entanet resellers (UKFSN Freeola etc) Zen and IDNet accept them all good and highly rated.

Just an update, since sending a question in via be's website they have since said that they do accept LLU MAC codes and i must say they have a very good customer service as they always reply promtly to submited queries Smile
