Hi,
Firstly apologies if this is a complete ramble!
I currently have a Netgear ADSL modem/router for wired and wireless network. Very pleased with this and had no problems for over two years with the kit or the connection to Wanadoo/Orange.
I was sent a Livebox about 6 months ago but just left in the cupboard. I didn't have a requirement for it and it looked pretty cheap so I wondered about the quality vs the Netgear kit.
I've seen the offers of free calls etc. and am now interested in VOIP particularly as my brother has just moved to Hong Kong.
So onto my question - Is there any way to leave my existing configuration in place but use the Livebox purely for VOIP?

Yes it's possible but you'd need to connect the netgear through the livebox which handles the broadband itself. I've heard of one being just plugged in like this and working and others needing lots of settings fiddled with until it was right.

Livebox
Wireless not working well on Livebox but if you have another wireless router do below so that you can use VOIP on Livebox
If you turn off DHCP and the ADSL connection on your old router and plug it into the back of the LiveBox you'll have the best of both worlds
