Basicallly my download speed @ around 2667 kbps ( 333 KB,s) is really quite poor compared to my sync speed which is 5632 kbps. I am on the LLU network.
No matter what time between 7 in the morning and 12 midnight my download speed is nearly always the same. Its getting very boring. I have never has a speedtest above 2700 kbps or below 2400 kbps so very consistent but poor. I am on the Glossop exchange. (MRGLO)
No im not sure if this is a problem at all or not. Do you think its worth getting in touch with them or should i just live with it. I dont want to be told a load of rubbish by customer services.
Here are my stats if that helps.
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 9.1
Attenuation (dB) : 47.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 6368
ADSL status : Connected [0]
Downstream Upstream
Rate (kbps) 5632 288
Was just trying to think what it could be.
Lack of capacity/backhaul at my exchange and on Orange LLU network
Errors on the line causing reduced throughput.
Any suggestions are most welcome.
Also could I ask how other peoples download speeds are in relation to thier sync speed.

Yeah sounds like thier cramming users on to a thier network which has very poor capacity. it just isnt good enough really. I suppose they only care about making money.
I'm on adsl max - I sync at the fastest speed possible and yet I've never had a download rate over 380kb/s
ADSL Max is a slightly different story as you need to know what data profile you're running on. It's possible to sync at 8meg but be stuck on a 1/2meg data profile, though that should techncially update as long as the sync stays high after roughly 3 days.

my profile is the fastest speed - I had issues initially but BT fixed the stuck profile fault on my line
