I am trying to use tracert on my computer (part of an online course) but the LiveBox blocks the packets so I just get the first hop to 192.168.1.1 and then no further. A call to 'technical' support yielded the useful answer of 'no-one here has been trained to deal with that'
I have tried using port forwarding for UDP port 33434 and 'ping' works fine so ICMP packets are not blocked.
open the livebox control panel and go to security > firewall
in advanced you will find a check box for "Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port"
check it and apply the config
then it works
I''d suggest for security reasons you revert to your previous config once you have ran the tracert you need.
Thanks for that, although when I went to Advanced that box was already checked. That said it worked and then stopped working when I reverted back to Medium.
