Hope this helps some people. Have got a dell Lattitude D620.
Set my Live box to Channel 7, WPA security and no firewall. All of a sudden my Laptop connected. Right clicked on The connection in the control panel, selected properties and then clicked on Wireless Network tab at top of pop up box. Under prefered networks was my live box, clickedon that and then properties. Network Auth was set at WPA-PSK and Data encryption is TKIP. I then couldn't get Internet Explorer to bring up any web pages and so pulled up the connection page and clicked on LAN setteings and the unchecked 'use prxy server' and everything worked fine. Hope this helps some people. ANy question and I will try and help as this took me 5 days to suss out
