Right, so ive spent a couple of hours faffing about looking for fixes and upgrading drivers etc, i did all this connected at 7.0mb and 7.1mb which was disconnecting me every 20 seconds or something, anyway i found a certain windows update file, it gave me a different icon in the bottom right, the old one i had which was a green icon that would go yellow if my internet disconnected, anyway, after upgrading that im now connected at 7.4mb and have been connected for 15 minutes, the longest spell today, have i fixed my problem, im honestly not sure but ill give the link to the fix, and would apreciate feedback from you guys after trying it.
EDIT BY ADMIN:
IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO LINK TO A .exe FILE... PLEASE REPLACE THE LINK WITH ONE TO A WEB PAGE WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PROGRAM'S USE

good luck
EDIT: i also noticed that when the error count hit 100 when you view your bytes recieved and sent screen, thats when the internet would disconnect, im still recieving lots of errors after the upgrade but as of yet it hasnt disconnected me and i have exceeded 100 errors.
Admin - The link was to what I believe is the driver update for the speedtouch modem.. maybe if he put the actual link up as a 2 part, so you have to consent to going there by combining the halves?

My Disclamer:
Information given as Goodwill, and is not binding in ANY form.
just thought id update this now ive had enough time to judge my connection.
ive been on for 7 hours today, without being disconnected, i was getting disconnected every 10 seconds before i upgraded my drivers.
but... i did get disconnected once or twice since yesterday, but it was just a reconnect and go again, not the usual disconnect, connect, disconnect, connect etc
The above link will take you to the SpeedTouch website wher you can locate the driver updates that you require.
Use the navigation menu on the left of the screen...
Support >>>> Download Center (yes, I know it should be centre!)
The original link was removed as it was a link directly to a driver update - this may not have been the driver for everyone, and so it was considered safer to remove it.
Before downloading updates for drivers, you should first ensure that you know which SpeedTouch mdem you are using.
ALSO NOTE:
Quote:
From SpeedTouch website:
Note that the latest versions of firmware and drivers available here may be newer than the version shipped and supported by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). We therefore advise all SpeedTouch users to check with their service provider which release that they are currently supporting. Upgrading to a newer release may result in an ISP no longer being able to provide you with technical support for your SpeedTouch product.
Many thanks for keeping us up to date on your issues phildray.
Phildray thank you so much for this topic. I thought I was going to have to destroy wanadoo headquarters, but luckily I now dont have to bother wasting my time. Im not sure how widespread this problem was but it was real annoying for me especially when playing xbox live.
I cant believe the wanadoo helpline is 50p a minute!!!!!
And lastly to my point...
Which driver did you download for the speedtouch modem (Im presuming you have the speedtouch 330). I got the high speed driver (8m) as I have been upgraded to 8mb adsl and so thought this appropriate. Was it? As it seems to have been made in 2003.
