Hi considering you have never had the service and don't know when and Orange won't do anything what is the point in staying if you have signed up with Orange you will need a MAC. im afraid the "free" offers from these big companiess are all tosh it's mainly their way of getting your custom once they have your line and on their 12 or 18 month contracts they have you by the short and curlys i would find a decent provider with a 1 month contract they usually offer a reliable service hence the 1 month contract.

Thanks for the advice - I have now started the cancellation process and made the guy on the phone practically swear on his granny's life that my line would be clear in 10 days!
Wow, it will be amazing to actually have broadband again - even if I do have to pay for it. Just hope the cancellation process all goes ok - don't know how they ask for the livebox back?

Hi gemlefab,
They should send you a prepaid packet, to throw the rubbish in and take to the post office. ( though the tip might be better )
If you get one ask for a proof of postage ticket at the post office just in case Orange try to say they have not received it !
Do not under any circumstances pay for the postage yourself.
As an aside, I know of quite a few people who have left Orange, some up to 4 months ago, and still have not received a returns packet, or any further communication about the return of the Livebox.
" Orange say it is a problem with my line but cannot give me any timeframe because they can't/won't talk to the people at the exchange. "
" Sorely tempted to leave and just pay for it but will my new broadband provider have the same problem?? "
Orange simply tell lies, they will blame BT and everyone for not providing a connection.
It's strange that the thousands of people who have left Orange all appear to get a perfectly good connection with their new Isp, ON THE SAME LINE, the same line Orange couldn't provide a connection on !
