Im apparently on 1MB broadband which disconnects throughout the day sometimes for upto an hour and then every day after 6pm it crawls along at dialup speed, orange are seriously doing my head in now
Orange or the general BT checker? Try it through www.samknows.com in the availability check. It that comes back as 1/2 meg then it's a guideline coming down from BT rather than from Orange themselves.
samknows says I can cannot get 1MB but only last week it said i could and I am actually receiving 1MB but the service is getting worse as im being disconnected more and more each day
Sounds like a re-evaluation by BT on what your line is able to carry. Could be a fault or something wrong somewhere but a line test would have to be put through by Orange in order for it to be examined and corrected.
It's back at 1MB again, anyway I have another question if anyone can help. Im currently on the £27.99 a month package but can change to the new £19.99 package that does exactly the same plus it saves £8 each month, as I already have the livebox would they still send out another one if I switched package?

When you change package it should either automatically know you already have a livebox or give you the option of letting it know if you do have one already.
