A friend of mine is trying to connect to Orange broadband on her newly bought second-hand graphite iMac.
She lives a distance away, and isn't a tech-head, so I'm trying to feed her info bit by bit.
Can anyone out there provide a set of simple guidelines to connecting via explorer, or ideally Safari? (With Livebox)
I was all set to forward the BRAMLEY instructions until I noticed she'd need firefox. Here lies a catch 22 - she can't download Firefox til she's connected to the web. Doh!!!
Well she "may" need Firefox if Safari has problems, the newer versions of Safari and the livebox config seems to be a bit better at working together. Best thing is to try without and see if it does work or how far it gets.
The other non-connection option is to access the config through a PC with ethernet (doesn't need a phone connection just the link to the PC will do for this bit) in order to set the username and password, after that it should just work fine. Then she can get Firefox just incase it's needed further down the line.
Thats presuming the @ light is flashing slowly, if it's solid then looks like it's already been setup and is ready to go.
