hey folks, dunno wether anyones had this problem at all but lets see...
for the past week my livebox with its 2mb connection has been slower than a robin reliant going uphill with a full rigby team in the boot.
our house has 2 pcs and a laptop connected to the box, but at night we turn the pcs etc off.
when turning on any of the connected units in the house, the wireless connection would connect first time with a speed of 54mb, but whenever we tried using the net on it, or connecting to MSN messenger or anything, it would just sit there and say the connection had timed out. certain sites would come up, although it would take at least 15 minutes to connect to bbc.co.uk, but any site with any complex graphics or anything on it and you had no chance.
after having a nosey round on this site i found other users with simarlar problems who suggested a factory reset, which i did and now i have no problems whatsoever.
i havent bothered calling Orange to report or ask for advice on the problem, as every time i have called them before usually results in them saying that they will not offer technical support to anyone not using an Orange wireless reciever (the 2 PCs use a sitecom 54B/G reciever, £15.99 from maplins, and the laptop uses a belkin 54B/G wirelss card, £20 from PC World), so calling them on their premium rate tech support advice line is akin to bashing your head against a birck wall.
