I am having the exact same problem. With me though, the modem is fine until I actually come to using the internet. For example, if I left it for about 5 hours and it disconnected along the way, the lights would still be green when I checked back, and would only go to flashing when I came to use the connection.
I've tried the latest drivers and that didn't help. I've downloaded the 8mb driver and it's gone once since then. What does my nut in about the 8mb driver though is that I've done a simple bandwidth test on a number of different sites, and I'm getting anything from 400kbps to 600kbps, which is ridiculous - I've been on 1.1meg since I can remember.
We've been waiting for Sky to get in touch, so we can finally end this hellish time we've had with Orange. Honestly, we've been loyal customers since the Freeserve days - first getting dial-up in 2001, and have had little if any problems with them or Wanadoo. Since it's become Orange it has been downhill and I can't wait to get rid of this shoddy service.
We are using a Belkin wireless router, but had a D-Link before that. Problem is that our connection to the internet keeps going off. There is
a strong signal, but when you try to get online the page cannot be displayed. I then have to go in to the router web page and manually
connect it. Sometimes it lasts a while, sometimes only a few mins.
BT have checked the line, an engineer has been round - no faults -
the ADSL signal is there... any tips?? Could this be a firewall problem?
Or do Orange really knock people off???

Hi may be a lonshot but in your settings have you got the router "always on" ticked or "dial on Demand" unticked ? it might say something else to that effect but as most have the option as always on or connect manually.
