Borednow - i tried disabling the addons and it didn't work i am afraid.
I spent most of yesterday on the phone to Dlink and they couldn't fix it, i have updated the latest firmware that they sent and it didn't fix the problem.
I have found that i can get onto the CNN website and click around that and the pages load, but pages such as Yahoo, Youtube, facebook etc won't load.
I have e-mailed the response team at Orange so hopefully they might be able to fix it.
In the meantime if anyone else has anymore ideas please let me know.
Success!! At last I can connect to the internet. I am finally able to post a message on here without having to use the modem.
I read a few old posts on here and saw that someone had a similar problem and they changed the connection type from: PPPoA VC-Mux to PPPoE VC-Mux. As soon as i tried this and rebooted everything...it worked!
I cannot explain why, any ideas? I am so happy you would not believe.
On a side note I'd just like to thank everyone who has posted on this post, your help has been invaluable.
One of the joys of being with Orange is that their router/servers problems have an uncanny reproductive system
It's probably to our advantage that they don't learn from their mistakes because, as you have discovered, there's always somebody who has experienced your problem in the past.
It's worth remembering that Orange would never have suggested that setting change as a solution to your problem.
