Anyway, just to let you all know I am connected and probably with a much quicker connection.

That great, I am really happy for you.
Fancy giving us any positive input in to how you have such a fanstatic, quick working internet connection as we are all without.
I have looked at a few different threads talking about the same issue and they all seem to say the same.
I'm assuming there are problems either everywhere or in a lot of places. After previous experience I am not going to even bother to call Orange as I'm sure I'll sort it myself eventually.
I'm gonna sit it out for a while and check it in a few days.
GOOD LUCK!!
I have been experiencing the same problems as many of you appear to be, but I also experienced the same type of problems some months back too.
I've had nothing but bother with Orange since the day I agreed to an 18 month contract with them. I'm all out of patience.
However, I finally managed to speak to an extremely pleasant and helpful gentleman yesterday at Orange, who kindly gave me my MAC code verbally, and agreed to let me out of my contract early! I am astonished, since I've battled with Orange for months with one issue and another, and wasted plenty of time, money and energy with their less-than-useful staff in the past.
So, I am off elsewhere, and hopefully, will never look back!
I genuinely feel for all those out there who are persistently being s**t upon by Orange. Be firm, be strong, don't take it from them lightly, and demand, demand, demand! That's what I did, and it has now finally paid off.
Good luck everyone.
Sponge.
PS - Thought it had been fixed last night, but logged on earlier today, and same problem occurred with Internet Explorer not being able to display pages. Am wondering if this issue is an ongoing one......??!!!
I was/am with Wanadoo put ever since Orange took over my service has been shocking, the past 6 months have been the worst it started with randomly blocking sites ... they said they are working on it all the time, that got fixed, then the connection started dropping when downloading any thing, that sorted it self at, and now the the last month or so I been having this same issue.
Some times I got no phone line connection on my LinkSys WAG354G then when there is it shows a red light on the Internet, which means could not connect to ISP, when its all the lights are green nothing works Tech support don't know the difference between a keyboard and a mouse ..., as you said before my IP address starts 91.111.*.*
Its just luck getting on the Internet so keep disconnecting and reconnecting takes time but for a hour or so on the Internet before it goes again its your only fix. What might also help if you where a wanadoo coustomer is to change your internet username from *.wanadoo.co.uk@fs to *.wanadoo.co.uk might help might not :/
As soon as my contract is up I'm moving to Sky, 16Mbits/s for £10 monthly, a lot cheaper then paying $18 a month for a service which we are not getting. (I would advise any one having this issue or any over to change ISP ASAP)
(The best way to cancel is to phone up and when given the options choose the upgrade option, you would talk to a real person in seconds and say you want to cancel and they can do it (Choosing the I want to cancel option will just hang up on you, that's how bad they want you to stay with them ... con arts ))
