At least RK got an answer from Orange. Thanks to this forum I have managed to get back into full FTP with my freeserve 15 Mb website using the Livebox with its Firewall disabled and through my old CuteFTP. Nothing heard from an email to Orange Support after over a week but then it was Christmas.
What annoys me is the fact that Orange are aware of a problem but go to the Status page and nothing is mentioned.
Yeah, there's an email reply from Orange somewhere on this site saying it's a "known issue". I guess they mean "known" to them, and not "known" to their customers Customers can only find out by going to the trouble/expense of contacting Orange (or by checking sites such as this one).

1) There's something about the combination of the Livebox (latest firmware) and the Freeserve server that prevents passive mode FTP working.
But there's no problem with other routers or with other servers.
2) Active mode FTP to any server via the Livebox only seems to work from certain IP addresses.
But this doesn't apply to other routers.
I almost feel sorry for the people trying to track this down
I'm having a problem with the 15MB of webspce to. I've just got the livebox and ever since I've not been able to upload files to uploads.webspace.freeserve.net
After countless emails to Orange, explaining the matter, Its like their not even reading the email, and sending me a message with the 15MB F.A.Q in. Twice I've had this now, I've sent them another explaining that I've gone through the F.A.Qs and still no sucsses. I've had it with em.
Its like they don't care about their older customers, but more interested in gaining fresh blood?
I'll give my old modem a try.
Actually, if they are aware of this forum, and problems with 15MB webspace.. That means I've been fogged off with countless emails for nowt, and there probably covering up a mess? Sounds about right to me?
The standard email address or submission form goes to a general team who don't really support webspace issues so all they can do if refer to the help articles.
Disconnected the Livebox. Reconnected the old Modem. FTP works great.
Besides the fact I actually posted in my first email that I had just got a live box? Nothing was said about it.
