Yeah i tried to update and it says im up to date, so the new firmeware must'nt have been released yet.

Off topic: I have a really werid IP today too, just out of the ordinary from the IP range i usually get from Orange

Anyone got any more info on the live printer?
Would it act as a print server? So you could connect a printer via usb, wireless or ethernet and print through the livebox?
Would be nice!

Just received an email from Orange saying the upgrade will be from 12th december and leave the Livebox on for the next 10-15 days.

It doesn't detail what the updated software is for.

Any printer that comes with either wifi or ethernet will have software that allows it to be networked so can already act as a print server with the livebox.

The liveprinter stuff is only for USB printers as they can't normally be networked in the same way.

I got that email too, but if its avaliablefrom 12th, im sure if you manually upgrade it should be avaliable on the 12th Wink

Manually updating should mean you get it practically immediately and you know exactly what it's doing and can be sure it completes ok. Otherwise it's a waiting game for when the livebox gets the update itself. It attempts to update at certain specific points and then should try and schedule the update for some point during the night so it doesn't get in the way.

I'd prefer to do it at a time i wasnt busy and i knew i was going to get cut off, other than be in the middle of something, and lose my connection

I have updated the firmware and now have liveprinter and bluetooth options.

I have enabled liveprinter but the webpage link doesn't work.

Anyone know how this will work and to set it up?

perhaps the bluetooth feature will allow you to print from a mobile phone?

also I just noticed the MAC filtering page now tells you the device name - much better Smile

It seems to require some software on the PC, presumably to handle passing the USB connection over the network. Currently it's noted as being launched in January so at least 3 weeks before we'll probably see anything.

from what I've read elsewhere the blue tooth feature will eventually allow you to upload images from a mobile phone to some sort of Orange Flicker clone.
