I travel quite extensively in my work and of all the people I have met and also know personally who are using Orange I haven't yet met one who is satisfied with the service. I have now made it one of my goals to meet someone who is satisfied with Orange BB.
To all the alleged "real" customers here who are satisfied I would like to know which planet you are living on!
If I do meet someone who is pleased with Orange BB I will report back with details!
To all those who have been taken in by the TV adverts and have just signed up, I wish you peace of mind and lots of luck in your sentence ahead!

I too have encountered lots of people unhappy with Orange BB, but despite this I (reluctantly) signed-up due to the bargain £5 (addition to my mobile bill) charge. As I've mentioned in my posts, I had teething problems to begin with (primarily my own fault!!) but overall I'm happy with the BB service http://www.orangeproblems.co.u...php?t=2748
My VoIP is now also connected, so all is truly up and running.
I have had no major issues with Orange. And as surprising as it is, I do indeed live on earth, South East England to be exact. It seems to be a hit and miss with Orange. If you have problems then your done for. But if you have good service, then your lucky.

It really says it all about a company when you pay for a service and have to rely on luck doesn't it?

So I guess that makes me a happy customer.
Milesoneill.
What surprises me is the amount of "new people" with only a couple of posts to their name who post here saying they are happy with Orange. If these people are genuine then what brought them here in the first place.
If I am happy with my next provider then the last thing I'm going to do is go surfing looking for a site that deals with problems on it; I mean why would anyone do that?

Wouldn't you be curious to know what problems people are having to make a deadicated site about it?

No, I'm too busy to be poking my nose into stuff that's irrelevant or doesn't concern me. The time spent on it would be pointless and wasted.

I can't help feel this too, tbh, the last thing I would be doing is going out of my way to sign onto a forum about problems which I don't have. Hence the conspiracy theorist in me tells me Orange is trying to somewhat fight fire with fire and muddy the water with respect to peoples "connections getting better".
Unfortunately, it only takes a few dishonest individuals to skew any poll/collected data (unless IP's are being monitored?), hell, maybe it's time to even the odds and create multiple accounts and say what bad connections I have and fake speedtests?. Goose and gander n' all that.
I'll always say the best way to gauge an ISP is through word of mouth and not 'fraudulent' ads- Just keep telling people to avoid Orange like the plague, they've caused way too much grief to many people and have done way too little too late- they don't deserve the money you give them.

... I did initially have a problem with signing up to Orange, which turned out to be my own stupidity at inheriting an existing landline number. I came here to let people know in case they got stuck too. (or didn't you read my posts???)
Why so bitter when people have something good to say? Orange apparently aren't great, but my experience has been fine. These forums are for people to get help when Orange cr@p-up, so perhaps it's nice for them to also know that there is, eventually, some light at the end of the tunnel!
Milesoneill (aka one of the "new people" lol, we all gotta start somwhere!)
I signed up out of interest whilst searching for an ISP with no minimum contract for my parents. I wanted to contribute my personal experience, and you have to be registered to post. There is nothing sinister in that.
I saw a link in a forum on DSL-Reports I think, had a look, and was frustrated by the way that virtually every member assumed that ALL Orange customers are unhappy!
I am now frustrated by the childishness of many posters here that can't even leave the "Sing Wanadoo's / Orange's praises" thread alone without trying to either trash the company or undermine satisfied customers' opinions.
As I have said in my one and only other post, I am entirely satisfied. I have been with Wanadoo/Orange for over 4 years now, never been offline (except for when I moved house), and on my 2Mb connection, just got 1922up/244down on the speed test which I logged purely for the benefit of the survey.
Give the forum a break, and post your comments where it's relevant! I have read about 5 topics in this section now, and it all seems like a big laugh for many users to post negative messages here. Surely for any argument to be considered viable, both sides need to be able to present their findings without dilution of the information? Posting tales of woe here undermine the genuine posts in the "problems" sections... it actually makes me wonder how many of those posters are (still) genuine Orange customers, and how many just post because they like the attention!!
I did note before that I had the odd issue with Orange SMTP, but as I now use a laptop I have an independent SMTP service that I can use regardless of connection or location, so I cannot comment on whether Orange has improved.
I would like to finish by saying two things:
1. I think it is more suspect that members post negative comments in the "positive experience" section than the though of covert Orange employees or "new people" coming here and writing good experiences to mislead others.
2. I do not work for, and I am NOT connected to Orange in any way other than subscribing to their broadband!
If the OP would like to pop in for a cuppa one day and have a go with my BB, then feel free to PM me and I'll give you directions to my house!

Hello AndyG
Thank you for posting ...
I would like to assure you that I, as admin of OrangeProblems.co.uk, set up the "Sing Wanadoo's / Orange's Praises" specifically to hear from those customers who are happy with the service to try and balance the website. But, those customers that are happy are usually not searching for sites such as OrangeProblems and hence the lack of posts in this section.
Of course, I am completely aware that there are indeed many Orange customers who are delighted with their service. And I truly am happy for them, and would welcome their comments (and broadband speeds!) here on OrangeProblems.
But of course, the purpose of OrangeProblems is to assist those in times of "problems"! Which is why there are perhaps... in fact, which is why there are indeed, many more dissatisfied customers posting here... Although just because somebody does have a problem, does not necessarily mean they are unhappy... We all, myself included, get stuck sometimes and need a little extra support, which is why OrangeProblems is here.
However, I originally set this site up due to the appalling level of customer and technical service that I received, and it appears that I was and am, certainly not alone!
I am confident that the Forum is set up with the best of intentions, and understand that by nature of the website name, the vast majority of posts will be negative.
It's nice to see that my post has been read and assessed by Admin, and the time has been taken to reply to it.
I would like to add though that I run a (totally unrelated) forum myself, and I do have one section with just a couple of posts in it. The section still remains though, and I would make sure that anyone who abused it or posted anything out-of-context in it was made aware of the fact very quickly and the post(s) removed where applicable. The forum currently has 1231 Members and 37732 total posts, so it is a busy forum with a quiet section, but it doesn't give people the right to abuse it. It just means that we don't get many visitors to the site that the section caters for... same as this section here really!
My hope is that the offending posters take the time to consider their actions really. Just because there aren't many satisfied people on OrangeProblems, the section should be kept un-abused. Surely if only genuine "happy" posts were here, and numbered only a handful, it would add more weight the the "unhappy" posts in the other sections?
From the main forum page, there is a section to praise Orange if you want to
I have followed up my original moan (Does this mean I'm going to be LLU'd), and I feel like praising them in a way because I never expected it to be resolved to a reasonable level of satisfaction, but I guess I am getting what I paid for if they want to squeeze more customers into the exchange
