Line tests cannot go through unless the system shows that broadband has been activated onto the line. If it was an LLU line then it's pretty much down to Orange, however if it is IPStream then the blame falls squarely on BT, they wouldn't accept the fault and send out an engineer if their own system said there was no broadband.
Almost forgot, as for the email address you cannot change the section after the @, only the part preceding it.

Thanks Elhana - I'll soon have a bigger database of how to solve faults than Orange.
