I just thought I would let you know my experience.
I ordered my upgrade on 27th December. Orange said to give them 5 days to get the livebox to me and 10 days to upgrade my connection. Within 3 days the connection had been upgraded, but after 5 days my livebox hadn't arrived.
I called the Orange hotline and they said they had a backlog of livebox orders so to give them 15 days to get it to me. I wasn't happy, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Anyway, 15 days passed, no livebox, and so on the 16th of January I gave them a call. They told me that my live box had been delivered on the 29th of December and that I had signed for it, which I hadn't. Anyway, the lady said they would get another one to me by the end of the week.
That was Monday, and Friday arrived - still no livebox. So I contacted them again and they said because my livebox had gone missing originally, I had to wait a little longer because it had to be registered as 'missing', but they reassured me that DEFINITELY by Tuesday at the latest (23.1.07) I would have it.
Tuesday arrived and still no livebox. I couldn't believe it. So another phonecall to Orange, and you know the story. Definitely, definite by last Friday I would have my livebox.
Friday, came and went without my livebox and when I spoke to one of their advisors they told me that they hadn't told me it would be here by Friday! He also told me that my livebox had been sent out but was returned to the depot because it got lost in the post! If it was lost, how could it have been returned? He then told me that it would be here by 1st February, and I told him that I'd believe it when I saw it.
Yesterday came and went, no livebox. I haven't rung, I can't be arsed. Instead I went out to PC World and shelled out £70 on a Belkin router because I can't wait any longer. I don't believe I will ever get it.
Well done Orange. You fobbed me off and won. I don't want your poxy livebox now.
why don't you just phone up and ask to cancel since they are in breach of contract?
Easier said than done. My Mom had the same problems with Talk Talk - only her connection wasn't working properly. They said that to break the contract would cost her a disconnection fee. I need my internet connection for work, so I can't just drop it and wait 10 days for a new ISP to connect.
Everything is working ok with my connection, so I am not going to start messing with it.

placed order for new broadband subscription on 29th Jan - Livebox received on either 7th or 8th Feb, use my case as an example by all means - I think you should ask them to contribute at least 25GBP in credit to your annual bill as your 19.99 per month for broadband unlimited package includes the rental charge of the Livebox for duration of contract (12 months I presume) i.e. 2.08 GBP x 12 = 24.96
