I have managed to successfully connect both my pc's with my Livebox - dont ask me how but a few glasses of wine helped!!
I have Netgear USB wireless adaptors on both pcs and although when I boot either pc I do get a good wireless connection and immediate access to the internet, the internet connection drops after about five minutes (everytime).
The wireless connection is still showing as 'good' but after many attempts the internet will not reconnect until I reboot!
I have called Orange who have talked me through the same things I have tried but ended up saying it was my pc and there was nothing they could do!
Can any of you smart people out there help me PLEASE!!!
Can you post your line stats. Open Internet Explorer and type in 192.168.1.1/testinfo.html Copy and post here second part of the results. Thats where it starts with ADSL_VERSION=
Have you tried pluging Livebox directly into test point on master socket. If you have not identify your master socket. If it has a cover with two screws on the lower half remove the screws and cover. This will isolate all extension wiring and hence any equipment connected to those extensions. When you remove the cover from the Master socket you will see a socket. Plug your livebox into this without any filter and see what happens.
Have you tried connecting one PC using ethernet wire as opposed to wireless to see what happens.
It is possible that you may have something interfering with you wireless causing the problem. Have you tried changing the wireless channel in livebox. You can do this from the config menu. By default it is set at channel 1. Try changing it to say chnnel 11.
Just work through what I suggest nice and slowly one at a time and see what happens. I am sure if I've missed something someone else will be along and provide advice.
