Hi rosebud
Good to hear that you got it working... for a short while anyway!
Try rebooting your computer. Occasionally, the signal may drop - I have a computer with a belkin adapter and a livebox and it was not always connecting first time to the livebox. It does now - why? Not sure!
With regards to swapping - you need a wireless box - that's it! But... be sure it is compatible - any good PC shop (e.g. P C World) will help you. They are around £40 - £50 - although others here may say yuo can get them cheaper elsewhere.
You may find that you need to change channels for your current wireless connection. There is a post here on the forum somewhere - I'll look later and post back.
Glad WanadooProblems.co.uk could be of assistance.....
Please note too, that there are Wanadoo agents that use this forum and offer good information - FREE OF CHARGE - IN THEIR OWN SPARE TIME ---

Just to clarify a little - Don't get a product unless it has "modem" somewhere in the description, e.g. Wireless ADSL Modem/Router.
Don't get something described as a "Wireless DSL/Cable Router", these are intended for Cable Broadband (to over-simplify ).
For future-proofing get one that is ADSL2+ compatible.

Have changed channels and rebooted, still no joy. Also have made sure the two automatic options are selected for network connections but under my wireless network connection details I still have an IP address which doesn't appear to exisit. Explorer says this page cannot be displayed message. Does the auto options overide this? As mentioned previously I can't seem to get an option to change it manually although terrified to do this in case I stuff everything up altogether and won't be able to undo it.
Re Wanadoo agents.
Yes, thanks to them also as if you are lucky enough to get one that is experienced they are great but the chances of actually speaking to one are very slim and when you do get one you can't get a direct dial no. so you can't speak to them again. If the helpline was FOC then customers probably wouldn't get so annoyed as they are paying for a service and the majority of agents are still training and you just end up going round in circles. I have to say I have never had a rude one and top marks to them for doing such a sh***y job. I would hate to be abused by unhappy customers all day long as I have no doubt some of them get very irate.
Wanadoo if you are reading this your helpline should be FREE!
Anyway I digress. I think I have exhausted all avenues and am resigned to just being 'wired' until I can migrate from Wanadoo. This is such a pain.
By the way do you have another help forum for non-wanadoo problems as I have trouble rebooting and other questions I would like to ask?
Cheers
Rosebud
Thanks for the tip re Wireless Router. You're a star! There are so many of us 'non-IT' people who end up buying the wrong stuff which we can't return. I really appreciate your help.
