Hi just been upgraded? to a supposed 4.5 mbps, 3.9 in reality but experiencing total system freezes and dropped connections, have updated drivers for the speedtouch 330 to no avail, at the minute I'm awaiting delivery of " livebox" will this help or exacerbate the problems? I reckon my old 2mbps which actually worked would be a better option than 4.5 that doesnt.
I applied last sunday for broadband max, speed went to 3.9 on friday night and has been freezing regularily ever since, no idea when the livebox will arrive or wether it will help
You will now be in the ten day training period were the line will check its maximum stable rate. This leads to changes in connection speed and quite often disconnections. This should settle down after this period.
This happened to me when I upgraded 3 months ago but things are all ok now and average around 6-6.5mb.
Some do have problems, have a look at the livebox issues forum.
I found it easy to setup and use. Had a problem getting the talk service to activate. I have 1 wired and 3 wireless connections to the livebox and have recently connected the printer to it so I can print from my network.

Hmm system freezes shouldn't be caused by broadband speed unless there's something seriously wrong with the modem drivers or the USB system really. If thats the case the livebox may cure those problems but...
It's more likely that the freezes are due to something else, bad or corrupted drivers, a virus, spyware, etc.
When the connection drops does the ADSL light on the modem flash at all? If not then it is more likely to be something mentioned above, however if it does flash then it could be just part of the Max upgrade training period. Try the livebox and wait out the 10 days and see what happens.
spyware and virus free as far as I can see, I have moved my modem to a place where I can actually see it!! hehehe, although fingers crossed no problems for the last few hours
