Its taking me over 4 hours on the mobile to Orange and the tech guy has refused me the code to terminate my contract without costing me anything he says I have to have 3 line tests before they can give me the code for customer services. I am sooo annoyed right now that Im cancelling all my phones with Orange I want nothing to do with them as soon as I get this damn code. They keep disconnecting me on the phone and it takes anything up to 2 hours to get abck through and not one of them have called me back
Well this took me 6 hours of calls and total crap from the Indian call centre I can tell you. A young lass called Lyndsey from the Rotherham centre was brilliant she did it all in 5 minutes flat. This is after a indian women told me the MAC codes dept was closed.
They lie and lie some more constantly so Im back with BT and thanks god I am too. I did get £20 for my calls tonight. If you have any problems try and get through to rotherham and ask for the supervisor Lyndsey Stevens she works after 18:00. What a darl I would have given her a big kiss if I was there. Its 22:15 and I can now have a cuppa and some tea
Im beginning to wonder if theres a BT revolt going on. When I check my postcode it says 8mb and they told Orange 8mb and when I check my phone number it says 2mb. Maybe I was a bit hasty or is this usual ?

Postcode covers an area, so any speeds given for that are general and not specific to your line. Could be if you were a few doors along you'd get 8 meg but that your line goes another longer route that means it can't get that speed. Problem is it's very hard to know exactly what speeds you'll get without actually putting it on your line and knowing more specific info.
Just spoke with BT and rang Three different people and guess what my line can only get max. 2mb not 8mb that thyey told Orange. Strange as I was on BT last January and was due to get 8mb but the speed was slow and I went over to Orange.
So looks like all my problems werent due to Orange but BT. Im still moving over to BT as the service is a lot better. So be aware people looks like BT are digging Oranges grave and they are letting them !!!

Haven't re-read your previous posts so don't know your history and might be barking up the wrong tree here.
BUT if this was the BTRetail ISP you were talking to then they have a policy of not using the BTWholesale ADSL Max 'up to 8Mbps' product on lines that have a low fixed speed result on the availability checker. So these customers only get offered the retail 'up to 2Mbps' products and not the retail 'up to 8Mbps' products.
