Sorry if this isn't completley a problem email

Yesterday I selected the option to upgrade to 8mb unlimited option (not llu) - i phoned ocs to see what the max potential upload speed will be and got passed from customer services to tech support and noone knew - all I got was download and upload was 8mb - i wish..

I complained to get a supervisor and after 20mins of holding he answered to let me know betwwen 400 and 750kb - is this right?

Also how long does upgrade take normally.,,,, and has anyone ever got full speed without going through any pain#

Upgrades usually take upto 10 days, then 10 day stabilisation period.

Upload should be just under 500kb, usually syncs at about 488 I believe.

Thanks for the quick response - so is 500kb the theoretical maximum or could it potentially be more.. eg.. 768kb/s or is this only on LLU enabled exchanges?

768kb upload would be if you're on an ADSL Max Premium connection. I beleive Orange only do non-premium Max so you get 488kb.

With LLU it's set at 288kb and doesn't go any higher AFAIK.

Agreed. Anybody out there know if it's rate adaptive?

On ADSL Max Standard and Premium the US synch is 448kbps and 832kbps respectively (rate adaptive) corresponding to IP rates of 400kbps and 750kbps.

AFAIK Orange don't use Max Premium.

Ah I knew normal had an 8 and a 4 in the speed and that premium was 800ish. Wink
