When I try to access Orange email using Outlook or the Mail equivalent on my MAC, I get the following message:
The POP server “pop.orange.net” rejected the password for user “xxx@orange.net”
I can access email online via I/Explorer. Using this method, I now need to enter my email address, password AND my mobile telephone mumber. Previously you only needed to enter the email address and password. It is when this change occurred that the Outlook problem started.
I can log on via the internet and retrieve my email online. But in addition to the email address and password I have to separately enter my mobile telephone number too.
Apologies... I should have pointed out that it is not a broadband email. It is Orange email with a mobile account. However there is no separate forum for email problems in the mobile section of this site.
hello everyone. I to cannot use pop3 settings for outlook express but I also cannot even login to my email account I keep getting

We are currently carrying out an upgrade of our email systems.
Access to 'Orange Email' and 'Email Manager' will be unavailable until 10am on Wednesday 22nd November.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
You are still able to access your Orange Email via POP3 using your mobile phone or computer software (eg Outlook), or by listening to your emails on Orange Answer Phone (note: listening to your email over answerphone costs 20p per minute).

From this you goto that address, click change details on the left, sign in, and the details you need are supposed to be on that page.
Hi - I have exactly the same problem as Zen and cannot find out how to resolve it despite mucho searching. I have used the link above and got into my main account but the email is down - was supposed to back at 10am on 22nd - ha! If I could just get set up properly in Outlook Express. Can it be so hard?? I think it's just not possible now as this is what I had.
email address: example@orange.net
username: example
password: likeimgonnatypeit
incoming pop server: pop.orange.net
outgoing: smtp.orange.net
It should work or so you'd think! Any help gratefully received.
To access your Orange email POP3 settings simply:
Sign into your Email account
Select 'email' on the left hand navigation
Select 'help' on the left hand navigation
Then choose "My Settings"
This is followed by a 'Goto your email account' hyperlink...
On pressing this it gives you the same "Sorry...Wednesday 22nd" rubbish mentioned above by jkat.
p**s Poor.

Elhana, how did you find this page? If you go through www.orange.co.uk it is no longer there. I can only get to it through your link...
After a very quick search on the Orange help pages. As the Orange.net accounts have and still are part of the mobile side of things I didn't know much about them so looked it up.

Did anybody have any luck in finding a solution to this issue?

POP3 explained
POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) allows you to send and receive emails on POP3-enabled phones and devices.
When setting up email on your phone, you’ll need your email username and password and your POP3 and SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server details. It sounds a bit complicated, but it’s not really:
Simply, POP3 allows your phone to receive emails and SMTP means it can send emails.
For Orange Email, the POP3 and SMTP server details are pop.orange.net and smtp.orange.net.
Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use POP3 and SMTP, but their details won’t be the same as ours. Your ISP should be able to tell you what they are.
If you have an Orange Email account then things are much simpler: all you have to do to see your email details, including your username and password, is click here.
Hope the above is of some use.
Let us know what Orange are saying regarding this issue.
