Hi, I was a wanadoo customer for a long time until Orange came along & screwed my connection up. After 5 weeks without broadband & banging my head against the rusty nail embedded brick wall that is 'orange customer support' I decided to cancel my account & move to another ISP. I've now realised that the £80 I spent on a livebox is completely useless when trying to connect to other ISPs!!!!
Does anyone know if theres a way around this, or a way of getting my money back on the livebox?
You need to use there domain name so for example Orange's is @fs so randomagent3.orangehome.co.uk@fs, each ISP will have diffrerent ring there support for help.
Ironic thing is if you came through to me i probably would of had you connected or at least kept and eye on the account for you.
Yeah the livebox is locked to Orange, there is a way of unlocking it but you need to get the code for it by either hacking it out of the livebox or from Orange.
You either need to get the code from Orange or I think it's possible to do come hacking around, with installing telnet on the livebox then typing some commands
I won't post a direct link here as there may be legal issues.
Try a Google search - there's a few pages in the results that look quite interesting.
In saying all this the Livebox is rubbish. You can buy a decent 54G router from the likes of Belkin for under £50 these days.
