I recently heard from a friend that Orange have reduced the price of their broadband. Orange had not sent me an email to tell me this. In order to take advantage of this new price, I have to log onto my account and manually change my package, which would in turn renew my contract for another 12 months! In addition, if I had never found out about this price reduction, I would continue to pay the old price and be none the wiser. This, to me, is an underhanded tactic to make a few more pounds out of me, and to force me to renew my contract if I want to subscribe at the new lower price.
I want to email a complaint to Orange but nowhere on their site is an email address, just a list of premium rate 'help-line' numbers.
Did you select the option when you signed up about Orange/wanadoo emailing you "offers" as if you didn't then that could be why. Though I'm not sure if they did email people about new packages available.
